Alex' new, self-titled album has been nominated for "World Music Album Of The Year" at the 2010 Juno Awards. This is Alex' third consecutive nomination after winning the award in 2006 for Humo de Tabaco and again in 2008 for Agua del Pozo. Alex and the trio rock the Vancouver 2010 Olympics this weekend with three shows at various venues aroud the city. Friday night, they hit the Surrey 2010 Celebration site at Holland Park (8:30 p.m.), Saturday night its the Experience B.C. Pavilion at Robson Square (11:30 p.m.) and Monday, they go for the photo finish at Richmond's O'Zone (9 p.m.). Alex takes the Gold for Soul.

Co-written by Alex with and co-producer Joby Baker, the funk-pop track is Alex' first-ever all-English song. The radio mix/edit was handled by Gammy-winning, Atlanta-based mixer/engineer Phil Tan.
